Driver Education Parent Meeting

As of January 1, 2015 all Driver Education programs are required to offer a Parent Meeting.  Stewartville High School offers a parent meeting each time a class is held.  Classes are held four times a year.

The meetings are not mandatory for the parent, however if they attend they receive a certificate of attendance which credits them for 10 supervised hours of driving.

As of January 1, 2015 all first time teen drivers taking their road test are required to turn in a supervised driving log to the examiner when taking the road test.  (Supervised by parent or guardian, the 6 hours of behind the wheel do not count toward the required hours).  The log will have 50 hours of supervised driving time which includes 15 hours of night driving.  If the parent has a certificate of attendance then only 40 hours are needed and 15 of those hours must include night driving.

As of July 1, 2015 the log turned in when the student/teen driver takes their road test must be the official log issued by the state of Minnesota.
